A little bit about my fave flower

When I was little a teacher gave us parsley and cress to grow and after a little while we got to eat a sandwich.

A couple of years later, another teacher brought in sunflower seeds and it was goodbye parsley and cress!  I love how nearly every day you can see changes. Instant gratifaction? Not quite, but close. I love their big happy smiling faces as I turn into my street.

I haven't sorted out the garden in my home yet, to tell the truth, I wouldn't know where to start as gardening and I don't get on. But for me sunflowers more than suffice. I don't like having to get at two am to stake them because the wind has suddenly come up - but they are so worth it. This year I am again planting organic Russian Sunflower seeds and I am hoping for a wonderful display and hopefully there will be enough that I can take a bunch or two into the office now and then. They really are a little pick me up!
